A high quality AWD wagon in a small package

I have owned my V50 for three years now and drove it 20,000 miles. It was certainly hard to find, but it was worth the effort. This is my first Volvo and I've been impressed by the excellent quality of the interior components. It took a year to fix the problems it had, but now since they are taken care of, the car is a dependable commuter vehicle. Fuel mileage averages 25MPG. The wagon's handling is superb. It is quite nimble if you're weaving in traffic and stays firmly on track at any highway speed. The brakes are also very good in a pinch. The ride is more on the sporty side and a little hard for my taste. The AWD V50 has outstanding driveability in heavy snow. I drove through 130 miles of it and it handles beautifully and never got stuck. The twin tailpipes are a nice touch and it has an athletic appearance to it. I am 6' tall and there is just enough room for me to drive comfortably. Since Volvo builds the safest cars, I've enjoyed a lower insurance premium. If you are shopping for a Volvo from this period, make sure the sunroof drain holes are kept clear to avoid expensive repairs. - 5.0
Saved my life

Had this car for 16 years. She got me through a lot and looked great until her death a few weeks ago. It was an awful wreck and I should have died but she saved my life.
